Izzy has maintained a journal for years. She's written an entry almost every day since she was 8.

Here's one she made her freshman year of high school:

"Another week at Royce and things aren’t getting any easier. I’m never going to live down trying to sign up for advanced PE. This kid Chester called me a supie. Which I think means superhero groupie? Is that really what they think of me? Okay I really do love people with powers but that doesn’t make me a supie. Next they’re gonna call me a cape yanker. On top of that I’m starting to think maybe I don’t belong at Royce. Not everyone there has powers but like everyone comes from money or has famous parents. Like Chester, his dad’s a tech billionaire. Sold some streaming startup to Kodak before he was born. I think some of the kids are famous even. There’s this girl who sits at my lunch table and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen her a bunch on FOODtv. Her mom’s a chef or something. Aww man she always has the best lunch. Like wagyu beef sliders. Always so fancy. Meanwhile I’m brown bagging it with bologna sandwiches and fruit cups. Not that I’m complaining. You know maybe I could convince her to trade. See what lunch is like on the other side of the tracks. Who knows? It could be the start of a brand new friendship. Can’t hurt to try right?"
