From when Izzy was 8.

"Today was Christmas. Everyone showed up today and it made me real happy. They all brought presents too. Alicia gave me colored pencils. Mom and Dad gave me a kitten. He looks like an angry little storm cloud so that's why I named him Thor. They said I couldn't have a kitten before but I think they're being nicer to me because of what happened. They said that Abby brought me a sketchpad but I know she didn't really because she is too little. Mamie brought me chocolates. The doctors said they had a present too but it wasn't really a present. They just said that I might be able to leave after the new year. That would be great and I would love that a lot. I miss my home and I miss my friends at school."
