The Aimeetaf take great care to not seriously harm any wildlife. There's a reasonable limit to that of course. If someone is in danger of imminent death or severe injury then necessary actions must be taken even if it results in the death of flora or fauna.

There have been select times where that isn't the case. If the creature or plant are especially rare or endangered and the only one at risk is the gedutu wielder it is permitted for them to get hurt or even die if it means the creature or plant will survive. While this isn't something that all wielders would do, more than a few have allowed themselves to perish due to this. 

These creatures don't seem especially endangered right now. But I'm sure the crew will do their best to protect themselves and keep the creatures out of harm's way. Izzy might struggle with this though.
